Leaders Wymeswold Cons made it 9 wins from 9 games with a convincing win at Barrow Cons. The home side struggled all night to post competitive totals as Wymeswold eased into a 3-0 lead. The final Leg proved much closer however with Barrow's efforts for a consolation point falling short by just one pin. Ian Merryweather once again top scoring for the leaders with 22. The 4-0 win means Wymeswold now go into the Christmas break with a healthy five and a half point gap to their nearest rivals, Syston Cons B.
Second placed Syston Cons B recorded their first maximum of the season with a dominant display against third placed Queniborough Wanderers. The game was switched to the Syston Social Club after Queniborough's alley was unavailable and the "home" side failed to get to grips with the change in venue as their visitors racked up four Legs of 30+ in easing to a comfortable 4-0 victory. Graham Spawton top scored for Syston with 26 while Neil Robinson contributed a solid 24.
A much closer game than the scoreline suggests as Syston Social Club travelled to Sileby WMC and came away with a 3.5 to 0.5 win. After a tied opening Leg the visitors established a lead after Leg 2 and secured the away win when taking the 3rd Leg by just one pin. Another solid 32 in the final Leg proved too much for the home side to chase down and saw Syston Social move up to third place in the League. Knut Heinemann-Wooster top scored for the Social Club with 23 while John Dilkes hit an excellent 25 in vain for a Sileby side that had skittled consistently all night.
Carington Cons continue to pick up points following a high scoring 2-2 draw with visitors Top House at the Melton British Legion. Remarkably, it left the home side without a win for the whole calendar year of 2025. Carington's four Leg total of 127 pins has only been bettered twice this season and yet they had to settle for a share of the points as the visitors also recorded their highest aggregate score for over a year. Top House took the opening Leg by just one pin before Carington hit back to level at 1-1. The away side went in front again only to see Carington force the draw with the last throw of the night. Graham Stockdale's 25, which included a 9, and 24 from James Williams were the top scorers for the home side while John Pratt also had a 9 in his 22 for the visitors.
The League will now take a break for Christmas with Matchday #11 scheduled for Friday 2nd January.
